Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm

Wind farm technology typically needs replacing on a cycle of around seven years. At that point, we can step in to carry out either a partial or a complete refresh of both hardware and software, based on our assessment of what needs to be updated.

Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm

We provided AIS and radar solutions for vessel tracking, ADS-B for aircraft and people tracking via a TETRA digital radio system using Bluetooth beacons.

Lynn and Inner Dowsing Offshore Wind Farms

Lynn and Inner Dowsing are a pair of wind farms located in the North Sea, in the shallow waters at the entrance to the Wash off the coast of Lincolnshire. They were developed as a single unit, with construction taking place 2006–2009.

As part of a major refresh project, we extended AIS and marine VHF coverage on to a second substation to enhance the overall resilience of the system.

Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm

Scira needed a robust and reliable network to link its offshore substations, admin centre, remote data centres and London energy traders – all in an area with very limited connectivity and bandwidth.

Wikinger Offshore Wind Farm

The 350MW Wikinger Offshore Wind Farm is Iberdrola Renewables’ first offshore project in Germany. It is situated in the German waters of the Baltic Sea, around 34km north-east of the island of Rügen. Construction began in 2015 with full generation commencing in late 2018.

We were delighted to host a team from the Norfolk County Council on the 21st January for an 'Internet of Things' presentation evening. They kindly agreed to come along and talk to our team about their project and it was fascinating to hear about what they have been doing, what they have actually built and what they are now offering. So what is Internet of Things and how will it help us in Norfolk and Suffolk?  Well, the Internet of Things, also known as IoT, is the concept of connecting a device with a sensor to the Internet to collect data to monitor, manage, control or report. This includes everything from kettles, light bulbs, pollution monitors and flood warning sensors. The main purpose is to generate real-time data that we can then analyse and use to create desired business outcomes.  Norfolk County Council where the first to open up long range wide area network (LoRaWAN) to innovators and businesses to test IoT applications, and in conjunction with their colleagues in Suffolk, they are already utilising that data to improve the lives of people across both counties.
Nesspoint will be attending the Wind Europe Offshore 2019 Exhibition in Copenhagen between 26th - 28th November. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and offering advise on Integrated Marine Surveillance and Management through to offshore Voice and Data communications and Plant LAN/WAN Infrastructure.
