Wind farm technology typically needs replacing on a cycle of around seven years. At that point, we can step in to carry out either a partial or a complete refresh of both hardware and software, based on our assessment of what needs to be updated.

Greater Gabbard is a 504 MW wind farm on sandbanks off the coast of Suffolk, originally completed in 2012.

To support its refresh, we installed a new AIS tracking system for vessels, alongside a new VHF marine band radio for voice communications, making the wind farm ready for its next seven years of operations.
